“Variations on a Balkan Rhythm” is inspired by the traditional Sedi Donka song of Southeastern European folk tradition that composer Nick Bonaccio discovered uses a playfully complex 25/16 rhythm as its framework. What follows is a set of musical variations on that rhythmic melody represented by video artist Cooper Vacheron.
