This piece was initially conceived as an exercise in polymetre. Opening with a simple electronic pulse, the rhythmic complexity is gradually increased layer by layer, with Naomi’s melodic lines dancing around the pulses while electronic processing augments the flute’s sound. The lyrics then avalanche into the piece at the midpoint and focus on numerology – the belief in the mystical relationship between numbers and destiny – with Naomi giving a powerful distortion laden vocal performance .
